Diving into an Unique Steam Game Trial: Guiding a Poop in a Mission to Find the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and enthusiasts have discovered plenty of interesting indie games. But, one catches the eye for its quirky concept. Named Unko Technica, this old-school styled jumping adventure includes a hero that is literally a piece of poop attempting to navigate to a restroom. In case you're wondering, "Unko" means "poop."
The gameplay is straightforward: just use a jump control. In one hundred fifty levels, you'll face boss fights and visit a market to purchase skins for your dung hero.
Execute your movements precisely, as a error means restarting the level. Bounce on air pockets to launch yourself higher, navigate fragile platforms, and interact with buttons to reveal hidden paths. Earn currency and use them on challenging stages in which gameplay ramps up.
In terms of design, the experience boasts neon environments and a killer background music. The simple art featuring shifting abstract forms may remind gamers of beloved games like Earthbound.
Although tough to think of previous releases where you control a coiled turd, video games often featured scatological themes. For instance, in Death Stranding, you can create explosives from character waste. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use feces as soil enrichment. Naturally, such content shows up extensively in Obsidian's role-playing game The Stick of Truth.
Putting aside its silly idea, Unko Technica has already garnered notable accolades, such as being named best at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. This trial version is available currently on Steam, with the final release planned to debut on Steam this November.
