I'll dominate 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's bout.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
