2K Games has welcomed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the development team at 31st Union, which is currently crafting the forthcoming over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as Project Ethos.

The new appointee assumes the role of studio head at the development studio following the departure of previous head Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' lackluster early showing last fall.

Recently, the company's top executive a key figure notified team members about this decision through an internal memo, which highlighted that early feedback sessions had indicated the necessity for a more defined direction.

The president stated that the developers is now reimagining the project with a refreshed vision, aiming to better meet gamer demands.

This announcement mirrors a comparable action taken by 2K Games in August, when they hired an industry veteran from the Diablo team to contribute to the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.

Through your commitment and flexibility, particularly over the past twelve months, you consistently demonstrate that.

The community feedback from last autumn’s the game testing phase was revealing. It confirmed the potential of a roguelike shooter but indicated we still had improvements to make. It revealed the need for a more distinct brand.

The progress is encouraging to see how far you’ve come. You accepted the input to heart and revamped Project ETHOS with a refreshed direction - one that’s positioned to fulfill its promise to our fans.

The belief in Project ETHOS increases every day. To advance the incredible advancement you’ve made, I am thrilled to announce the new hire as the incoming Studio Head of 31st Union. Following some time of discussions, Ben comes aboard us on next week.

Ben’s guidance and expertise in the competitive gaming field is extensive, having spent the last 15 years developing and overseeing some of the most well-known series in gaming, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, and lately, Apex Legends.
